SSHR-Secondary Commons (100), SSHR-1-Secondary Gym, Rm 170 (904)The following message was sent to all seniors via their stemk12.org email. Please click here to access the permission form. All seniors who wish to attend must have a completed permission form submitted prior to the event. Thank you!YAY!!! STEM SENIOR LOCK-IN TIME!!!!Who: STEM SeniorsWhat: Senior Lock-InWhere: STEM Secondary GymWhen: May 9, 10 pm - May 10, 8 amWhy: Because traditions are fun ???? let’s start building them up!What is this whole senior lock-in thing? Senior Lock-In is a time to enjoy your last few weeks at STEM with your fellow seniors. It will be an all night fun fest of games, movies, karaoke, and who knows - maybe a contest on who can build the best fort! What should I bring?Sleeping bag and a pillow! Who knows if sleeping will really happen, but we can figure that out when the time comes. Your STEM ID or driver's license is required! Contacts, contact solution, toothpaste, and a toothbrush would be beneficial, too. Feel free to bring board and card games for you and your friends too! We will have some of the basics, but if you want something specific go ahead and bring it. And a charger for your phone wouldn’t be a horrible idea either. STEM will be providing some light snacks and drinks, but bringing in extra snacks or drinks would never be a bad thing - we are there for 11 hours after all. So, let’s run through that one more time:Sleeping bag and pillowID (required)Contacts/solution/glasses if you needToothbrush/toothpasteCard and board games to play with friendsCell phone chargerSnacks and drinksCost?Entry will cost $10 per senior. This is to pay for our favorite security guard. Yes, Brandon will be there!!Rules?Yes. There are rules. Basically anything in the normal day to day of school rulewise still applies at the lock-in. No bullying, be respectful of one another, no drugs, alcohol, or anything else inappropriate, and all that jazz. Should any misconduct occur, you will have the same consequences as you would if school were in session. Being so close to graduation and not being able to do so because you didn’t follow the rules is definitely something you don’t want. Promise. A reminder of all of that information is listed below. In addition - we have a few extra rules for the lock-in and all of them are because we want everyone to be SAFE. The lock-in begins at 10 pm on Friday, May 9, and all seniors must be checked in at STEM by 10 pm. That is when we will no longer allow more students to enter the building. No exceptions! The lock-in ends at 8 am on Saturday, May 10. You will NOT be allowed to leave STEM before 8 am. The only exception to this rule is if there is some sort of emergency and your parents contact me or Mr. Alsup directly. Only STEM seniors are allowed! Expulsion from STEM School will be mandatory for the following violations: The carrying, bringing, using, or possessing a dangerous weapon; The use, sale or distribution of a drug or controlled substance; or The commission of an act that, if committed by an adult, would be robbery or assault other than third-degree assault. Items Not Allowed at STEMIllegal Substances (example: drugs, alcohol, tobacco, pornography, etc.) Valuables/large amounts of money/expensive jewelry Scooters/skates/skateboards/Heelys cannot be ridden on property and should be kept in student lockers, or in racks provided by the school Laser pens/pointers Lighters/matches/fireworks Flammable liquids/sprays Any potentially dangerous item Toy guns Knives of any kind, baseball bats, throwing stars or any “look alikes” A form is being sent to all of the senior parents, so if you plan on attending the Senior Lock-In make sure your parents sign the form. You will not be admitted without a parent signature. I am so excited to be at STEM for the very first STEM Senior Lock-In - a tradition that will continue on with seniors for years to come! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me or stop by my office to chat. Mrs. Myrick
